NSWW - Norfolk Street whiteware ('NS ware')
Generally a whiteware, but some sherds (mainly wasters?) are orange. Whitewares have internal and/or external yellow, olive or copper green glaze. Sample sherds include some fragments which are almost certainly Surrey/Hampshire products, including some which are sooted.
Two fragments of biscuit-fired vessel and one base with unfused glaze suggest that there was production on the site, but it is not clear if these were intended to be orange or white. Abundant fine sand (mainly clear, sub-angular, 0.1–0.3mm), sparse red ferrous oxide (generally fine), rare chalk.
Sample from King's Lynn.
