Sandy buff-coloured fabric with clearly defined buff margins and dark grey core. Moderate to abundant clear to white sub-rounded fine (occasionally medium) quartz sand, rare flint and ferrous oxide. Has similarities to Grimston coarseware, but generally smoother and finer with a darker core.
Sample from Thuxton DMV.
